Location

Beechworth is a comfortable 3 hour drive north east of Melbourne, approximately 270 kilometres along the Hume Highway turning onto the Great Alpine Road at Wangaratta and following the Beechworth signs.  You’ll find your Beechworth accommodation at BEST WESTERN Beechworth Motor Inn located on Sydney Road, 1 kilometre north of the town centre, right next door to the Beechworth Hospital.

Chiltern

Lakeview House

This National Trust building is the beautifully restored childhood home of the authoress, Henry Handel Richardson, pseudonym for Ethel Florence Richardson.

 The charming red-brick single storey house is furnished in period style and contains a small collection of Richardson memorabilia

Opening Hours:   Thursday and Saturday 10am-4pm

Dow Pharmacy

Housing all the original fittings and a vast array of pharmaceutical equipment and commercial products from days gone. The pharmacy was operated by David McEwen, father of former Prime Minister of Australia John McEwen.

Open Hours:   Seven days a week, 10am-3pm. (Except Christmas, Boxing Day and Good Friday.)

Yackandandah

Karrs Reef Gold Mine

Bursting with mystery from the early gold rush days there are many discoveries to be made.  We will take you on a guided tour of an underground gold mine dating back to 1867.  The tour departs from the Yackandandah Visitor Information Centre in High St where you will travel by 4WD bus into the mountains to the historic mine site.
 Opening Hours:  Saturday and Sundays at 10am, 1pm and 4pm.
                                Weekdays by appointment.
Operating every day during Victorian School Holidays.

Rutherglen – Wine Region of North East

Renaissance Chocolates

Situated in the wine growing region of Rutherglen. It is in this wonderful food and wine area that you will find the Couverture and Coffee Room, where you can enjoy a unique chocolate experience.

Opening Hours :  Thursday to Saturday 11am  - 5pm,  Sunday 11 - 4pm

Also open on Monday Public Holidays 11- 4pm, or by prior appointment.

CLOSED Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and the month of February.

Pickled Sisters Cafe

Set in the picturesque grounds of Cofield Wines.  The Pickled Sisters Cafe has a simple interior and rustic surrounds, but it is the welcoming atmosphere and emphasis on the finest local and regional food and wine, that keeps people coming back. The cafe is a bright, buzzy and energetic space during the day - perfect for brunch, a long lunch, or a simple vineyard platter with a glass of sparkling shiraz.

Mt. Buffalo

The King River Cafe, in the heart of the Milawa gourmet region, is housed in a pub built in the 1860s.

The cafe with roaring fire in winter and shady courtyard in summer is  just a short walk from the King River.

Sam Miranda Wines

Sam Miranda is the third generation of a prominent winemaking family who moved from Italy to Australia in the 1930s. The Sam Miranda range is devoted to a selection of premium wines handcrafted by winemaker Sam Miranda and exclusive to the cellar door.
